Top Drugstore Foundations : Medium Coverage

This is part two of my three part series rounding up the top foundations that the drugstore has to offer. Today's post will be dedicated to my best suggestions for those of you after the perfect medium coverage look. If a full coverage foundation is more to your taste, then be sure to check out my previous post here.

1. Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation: shade 100 'Ivory' - £6.99

In my opinion, Rimmel are a definite winner when it comes to foundations and they have also made it onto my list of the best medium coverage choices. This foundation claims to have an advanced Smart-Tone Technology that will match to your natural skin tone in any light. It offers a light to medium coverage and is perfect for the days when you want to wear a foundation with a slightly more natural finish.

The Match Perfection provides a coverage that is buildable  however, as it is a lighter option, the lasting power is not as strong as the previous choices. Although it is the perfect balance between the Lasting Finish and Wake Me Up Foundations. This provides a glow that allows your complexion to look luminous but is natural and suitable for oily/combination skin. It also has an added SPF of 10 and is entirely affordable at only £6.99.

2. L'Oreal Paris True Match Foundation: shade N1 'Ivory' - £9.99

Another infamous drugstore choice is the L'Oreal True Match, which also makes the perfect dupe for the significantly more expensive Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. This claims to perfectly match your natural skin texture and is available in 23 skin-true shades. The consistency is slightly more fluid than the previous option and is perfect for those who want the choice of a light or full coverage in one foundation.

The silky smooth formula can be applied in one thin layer to provide a light coverage that will even out and perfect your skin tone; or it can be gradually built up to create a flawless medium coverage without caking. The creamy texture blends perfectly with your skin tone to produce the finish that you desire and also has the benefit of  SPF 17. I think this is an absolute bargain at £9.99 as you essentially have the option of a light, medium or full coverage foundation all in one bottle.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that it helps make your decision a little bit easier the next time you are scouring those drugstore displays. I would love to hear what you think as well as the foundations you love in the comments below. If you prefer a lighter coverage then be sure to check out tomorrow's post for my top choices!
