Skincare Week : Cleansing Routine

This week is dedicated to talking about skincare; a week filled with daily posts on my holy grail products and top tops for a clear complexion. To start this series off I want to share with you the basic cleansing routine that my skin is currently loving.

I have without a doubt tried my fair share of high street and high end products, all of which herald a revolutionary concoction of ingredients to create a flawless complexion. I now know that constantly testing new products will only aid to worsen the situation; not to mention my bank account. Finally I have found a routine that works for my skin; it is gentle, full of natural ingredients, calms my breakouts and hydrates my dry patches.

I was recently introduced to Tropic Skincare; an entirely natural, vegan and cruelty free line of products that all started in a jam jar on a market stall in 2004. These products are brimming with 100% natural plant extracts and are effective on all skin types; one simple skincare regime to suit everyone's individual skin needs. The basic ABC skincare line includes a hot cloth cleanser, a refreshing toner and a reviving moisturiser. These three products work in harmony to cleanse, nourish and even your skin tone.

1. Smoothing Cleanser

This is a luxurious and naturally indulgent cleanser that gently dissolves all traces of makeup and impurities. The rich, creamy texture melts into your skin to reveal a soft and intensely hydrated complexion. This is the gentlest yet most effective cleanser I have ever used. It is accompanied by a 100% organic bamboo face cloth, which is naturally antibacterial and softer than a usual muslin cloth. Two pumps is plenty to cleanse your entire face and given that you receive a 120ml bottle, you can rest assured that you will not need to be repurchasing anytime sooner. Each bottle is only £15.00, an absolute bargain considering both the size and quality of the product you receive.

2. Vitamin Toner

This refreshing toner is the perfect follow up and the fine mist aids to boost your skin's vitality. It is suitable for all skin types and helps to re-balance your skins pH and moisture levels. I have found that since using this my oily/combination skin now produces less oil as my skin's hydration levels are balanced. You also receive a 120ml bottle for only £12.00 and considering only a few sprits is needed at a time, you are unlikely to be reaching the bottom anytime soon.

3.  Skin Revive Firming Nourishing Cream

The third and final step is an intensely nourishing moisturiser that feeds your skin a powerhouse of essential nutrients to protect it day and night. You receive a 50ml bottle for £20.00; however a small amount goes a long way. Only one pump of this super rich cream is needed to moisturise your whole face. For those who have an oily complexion like myself, do not be strayed by the sound of a rich moisturiser. This hydrates your skin and sinks in like a dream so that you are never left with a greasy looking face. It also creates the perfect smooth base for your makeup to sit on top off.

I now look forward to washing my face with this simple routine every morning and night. I would love to hear what you think in the comments below. Have you heard of Tropic before and do you think you will be trying out any of the products? Be sure to follow my blog so you don't miss my posts reviewing the Tamanu Balm and Face Smooth Polish later this week.

(Disclaimer: this review is not sponsored or paid for, all opinions and photos are my own and I purchased the products myself).
